Casting Complete for LCT's WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Kate Blumberg, Victoria Clark, Mary Beth Hurt, Rod McLachlan, Susan Pourfar, Will Rogers, Michael Siberry, Richard Topol and Henry Vick will be featured in the cast of its upcoming production of WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING, a new play by Andrew Bovell, directed by David Cromer, which begins previews Thursday, February 11 at 8pm at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night for this American premiere of WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING, which is being produced by arrangement with Jean Doumanian and Freddy DeMann, is Monday, March 8 at 6:45pm.

WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING is an epic drama, set in England and Australia, that traces a family's history spanning 80 years. The play premiered at the Australia's 2008 Adelaide Festival, was subsequently presented by the Sydney Theater Company and recently produced in London by the Almeida Theatre .

The production will have sets by David Korins, costumes by Clint Ramos, lighting by Tyler Micoleau, sound by Fitz Patton and original music by Josh Schmidt.

Australian writer Andrew Bovell is best known for his award winning film Lantana and for co-writing the original screenplay for Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom. His play, Speaking In Tongues, was seen at Hampstead Theatre in 2000 and toured internationally.

Director David Cromer directed the critically acclaimed off-Broadway production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town (in which he also played the Stage Manager) and this season's Broadway production of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs. He also directed the off-Broadway productions of The Adding Machine: a musical (2008 Obie Award) and Orson's Shadow and has directed extensively in Chicago.

Lincoln Center Theater continues the celebration of its 25th Year with the American pemiere of WHEN THE RAIN STOPS FALLING, the latest in LCT's season of World, New York and American premieres of new work. LCT is currently presenting In The Next Room or the vibrator play, which marks the Broadway debut of playwright Sarah Ruhl, at the Lyceum Theatre through January 10 and later this season will present the world premiere of A.R. Gurney's THE GRAND MANNER. LCT's Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC continues its record breaking run at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
