Casting Announced for Mark Snyder's AS WIDE AS I CAN SEE at HERE

Casting-Announced-for-Mark-Snyders-AS-WIDE-AS-I-CAN-SEE-at-HERE-20010101

At Hand Theatre Company (Letters to the End of The World, Broadway Recycled) has completed casting on the World Premiere of Mark Snyder's AS WIDE AS I CAN SEE. Directed by Dan Horrigan, previews begin February 23 on the Mainstage of HERE Arts Center with opening slated for Wednesday, February 29.

AS WIDE AS I CAN SEE is set in the backyard of a recession-stricken Ohio town, where the beer is on ice and the citronellas are ready to be lit. Dean, a disillusioned journalist, and his freeloading best friend unwittingly prepare for the most explosive barbecue of their lives. Tensions mount when Dean's girlfriend inadvertently invites a mysterious woman from his past to the party. Burgers are flipped and scores are settled in this new drama about remembering who you were and confronting who you've become.

The production will star Ryan Barry (Best Actor winner at FringeNYC 2011 for In The Summer Pavilion), Mélisa Breiner-Sanders (Rosemary with Ginger), Kay Capasso (Looking Glass Theatre's Othello), Julie Leedes (Kiss & Cry), Joshua Levine (Channeling Kevin Spacey), and Conan McCarthy (When We Go Upon the Sea at 59E59) with set by David L. Arsenault, costumes by Nicole Wee, lighting by Josh Bradford, and sound by Colin Whitely. It is produced by Justin Scribner and Matthew Dicarlo with casting by Judy Bowman and production stage management by Angela F. Kiessel. This production is a part of HEREstay, HERE’s curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support.

Mark Snyder’s plays include A Decent Stretch, Wipe Away, Lila Cante, The Beanbag Game, Lilith on Today, and The Sounds of Ice, as well as many shorter plays. His plays have been produced and developed in Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, and Minneapolis, in addition to New York.  He is an artistic associate at At Hand Theatre and The Claque. For three summers, he hosted and performed in the Red Light Nights series at The Slipper Room (Firecracker Productions).  Mark's interviews and essays have appeared in The Collagist, Queerty, ThePeeq, and at Maud Newton.com, He holds a BA from Otterbein College and an MFA from Ohio University. Mark was born in Warren, Ohio and can be found at www.facebook.com/markbsnyder.
