Carnegie Hall Announces Cancelled, Moved and Rescheduled Concerts as of 11/1

Carnegie Hall today announced information updates for a number of upcoming concerts that have been rescheduled, cancelled, or moved to alternative venues due to the ongoing closure of West 57th Street in Manhattan following Hurricane Sandy.

Updated concert information follows. All other scheduled concerts starting on Monday, November 5 and beyond remain on the Carnegie Hall schedule pending the reopening of West 57th Street. Ticketholders are encouraged to check carnegiehall.org for the most up-to-date information and can call CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800 with any questions. Carnegie Hall has been closed since Sunday, October 29 due to Hurricane Sandy and the subsequent closure of West 57th Street.

Please note the following updates for upcoming concerts and ticket information below:

Friday, November 2
The performance by The King’s Singers, originally scheduled for Friday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall, has been rescheduled for Monday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m.

The performance by pianist Murray Perahia, originally scheduled for Friday, November 2 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, has been relocated to Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center and rescheduled for Sunday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. Ticketholders should retain their tickets for exchange at the Avery Fisher Hall Box Office on Sunday, beginning at 12 noon.

Opera Lafayette’s performance of L’Invitation au Voyage, presented by Opera Lafayette, scheduled for Friday, November 2 at 8:00 p.m. in Weill Recital Hall, has been relocated to the Colony Club at 564 Park Avenue between 62nd and 63rd Street. Ticketholders will receive automatic refunds and may repurchase their tickets at the Colony Club door. Ticketholders with questions should contact Opera Lafayette at 202-546-9332.

Saturday, November 3
The first of three scheduled performances by the Belcea Quartet, originally planned for Saturday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 6 at 7:30 p.m. pending the reopening of West 57th Street in Manhattan.

The Canterbury Choral Society’s performance, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 3 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, has been rescheduled for Monday, January 14 at 8:00 p.m.

The Manhattan School of Music and Hong Kong Arts Development Council’s Manhattan Hong Kong Music Festival Chinoiserie Moderne: Beyond Exoticism performance, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 3 at 2:00 p.m. in Weill Recital Hall, has been cancelled.

Global Artists Management’s performance by violinist Mercedes Cheung, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 3 at 8:00 p.m. in Weill Recital Hall, has been rescheduled for Friday, December 28 at a time to be announced.

Sunday, November 4
The performance by Idina Menzel, presented by Live Nation and Princeton Entertainment, originally scheduled for Monday October 29, and rescheduled earlier this week for Sunday, November 4 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, has now been rescheduled for Sunday, January 13 at 8:00 p.m.

Both AFAF Student Recitals, presented by American Fine Arts Festival, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 4 at 12:00 p.m. and at 4:30 p.m. in Weill Recital Hall, have been rescheduled for Sunday, June 2.

Monday, November 5
The Carnegie Hall Notables private event (un)common threads: Blurring genres in the 21st century, originally scheduled for Monday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m. with Gabriel Kahane has been rescheduled for Monday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m. Patrons with questions should contact the Notables office at 212-903-9734 or by email notables@carnegiehall.org.

The Oratorio Society of New York’s concert of American Voices, originally scheduled for Monday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage will be rescheduled to an early 2013 date to be announced.

For concerts that have been rescheduled, patrons should retain their tickets which will be honored for each new date.
