Carly Jibson Comes To Splash Bar For 'Monday Nights, New Voices' 7/27

The fifth year of the acclaimed series, ‘Monday Nights, New Voices,' will continue on July 27th, with special guest host, Carly Jibson, who is was most recently seen in Broadway's Crybaby.

The monthly series, which celebrates and honors up and coming talent, will boost the talents of Alex Covington, Bill Coyne, Douglas Lyons, Lauren Meltsner and Merrill Peiffer.

Each of the talented performers will sing selections from the evening's special guest composer, Paul Fujimoto, who will also be on hand to tell stories associated with each of the presented songs at the evenings concert. The evenings musical director is Paul Staroba, who will accompany all of the performers.

The 7pm concert is produced by Composer Scott Alan.

Paul Fujimoto is a composer/lyricist from Seattle, WA. He is currently working on two shows: Not Exactly Romeo (with playwright Eric Holmes), and No Holds Bard, a song cycle featuring Shakespearean characters in contemporary contexts. His work was showcased in the NEW GENERATION OF SONG '07: THE FUTURE OF MUSICAL THEATRE concert, in association with the New York Musical Theatre Festival. He was one of the young songwriters chosen to participate in the 2007 Johnny Mercer Workshop under the auspices of the American Musical Theater Project. Paul is also a quasi-prolific jazz composer/ arranger and award-winning trumpet player. His concert, Not Jewish Or Gay: The Songs of Paul Fujimoto, recently played the Laurie Beechman Theater.
