Thoroughly Modern Millie is a high-spirited musical romp that has all of New York dancing the Charleston.

Taking place in New York City in 1922, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It's a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever.

Based on the popular movie, the stage version of Thoroughly Modern Millie includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers.

Christian Youth Theater (CYT) nationally is the largest youth theater organization in the country with 21 locations in the US and Canada. CYTKC is celebrating our 12th year in Kansas City and our expansion into Shawnee. We currently have locations throughout the metro including metro north (Gladstone/Liberty), metro east (Lee's Summit), and metro south (Overland Park). Our expansion into the metro west area will be a great asset to families that seek a high quality theater arts program for their children and an organization that supports and engages the entire family.

CYT is more than just great theater. Our core programs include after-school theater arts classes, summer camps and high-quality Broadway-style musical productions. During our 2011-2012 season, we will perform 11 musicals throughout the Kansas City metro! Additionally, we offer our HEART program as a full-integration opportunity for kids with special needs, HYPE leadership program, Project Dance, competitive improv team opportunities, and more!

CYT invites all individuals, regardless of religious affiliation or economic background to take part in our programs. CYT is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, funded primarily through tuition, ticket sales and charitable donations.
