CROSS PURPOSE to Play 4 Weeks in London
Cross Purpose, the first major revival of Albert Camus' darkly absurd and tragic play, is returning to the King's Head Theatre for a four-week season after a hugely-successful short autumn run that saw Jamie Birkett nominated Best Actress in the Off West End Awards.
Cross Purpose, directed by Stephen Whitson, will play from Tuesday 8 January - Saturday 2 February.
Press night is Thursday 10 January at 7.15pm.
A man returns home to bring good fortune to his Mother and Sister, deciding to remain anonymous, a decision that ultimately proves fatal. He finds them running a guesthouse, murdering their wealthy guests and dumping them in a nearby river. Darkly absurd and tragic consequences ensue in this play by Nobel Laureate Albert Camus.
Albert Camus was a French author, and philosopher. His views contributed to the rise of the philosophy known as Absurdism. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1957 "for his important literary production, which with clear-sighted earnestness illuminates the problems of the human conscience in our times".
Cast: Jamie Birkett, Paddy Navin, David Lomax, Kemi-Bo Jacobs, Leonard Fenton.
