CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG to Celebrate 150th Performance April 7 in Melbourne

By:

The Australian Production of Ian Fleming's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will celebrate it's 150th performance on Sunday April 7 and both Sydney and Melbourne seasons have gone off with a Bang..bang.

The spectacular production, acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, has been seen by over 200,000 people enjoying box office revenue in excess of $20 million.

Chitty remains the longest running musical ever to play at the London Palladium, and holds the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive stage prop in British theatre history.
The Melbourne season, at Her Majesty's Theatre, is now playing it's final shows before Chitty flies to Adelaide on Sunday 14 April.

"I am obviously thrilled that this all time favourite has been embraced so fondly by Australian audiences. It's an absolute classic story that is loved across all generations' said producer Tim Lawson. 'It's especially nice for me to play my home town of Melbourne at the glorious Her Majesty's Theatre".

Sensational sets, stunning special effects, Ian Fleming's irresistible story, and an unforgettable score by The Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins) all add up to a blockbuster musical that has audiences of all ages transfixed. Starring David Hobson, Rachael Beck, Alan Brough, Jennifer Vuletic, Peter Carroll, George Kapiniaris and Tyler Coppin as The Child Catcher.
