Broadway Kids Care Raises Money for Japan

For the past five years, The Broadway Kids Care (BKC) has provided philanthropy for various organizations in New York City. At this time, BKC is taking its outreach to an international level. According to BKC member and spokesperson, Sarah Safer, "my friends at BKC came together to help those affected by the terrible tragedy in Japan. We knew we had to act quickly and when we all came together to work for this cause, it was inspiring." BKC is providing red silicon bracelets with the slogan peace-love-relief to anyone who provides a $3 donation or more. The BKC founders, Louis and Kelly Gonda, provided the bracelets on behalf of BKC.

During the last two weeks, dedicated BKC members have been busy working on their fundraising efforts for those affected by the disaster overseas and hope to make a difference in the recovery of Japan. Broadway Kids Care was founded by producer Kelly Gonda, and her husband, Louis Gonda in 2007 with the mission to preserve and perpetuate the theater community's grand tradition of public service and to involve the community's youngest members. BKC is currently led by the parents of children from current and past Broadway shows and dedicated to ensuring that the next generations of theatrical talent carry forth the message, mission and consciousness that has made Broadway such a vital part of New York City and beyond.
