Broadway In Chicago, who brings 1.7 million theatergoers to Chicago's Downtown Theatre District annually, is the first theater organization to launch an iPhone application ("app") today, April 20, 2009. Apple's App Store offers apps ranging from restaurant finders and movie times to ski conditions and guitar tuners. This first ever theater app, available for free, will keep on-the-go theater fans "in the know" by giving them up-to-date show information, nearby restaurant suggestions, parking garage locations, exclusive video and much more. In addition, for those who do not have an iPhone, Broadway In Chicago has launched a mobile-friendly website for PDAs.

The Broadway In Chicago app is available for free from the App Store on iTunes or an iPhone. The app allows users to find out what is playing at any Broadway In Chicago theater, directions to the theaters and where to eat and stay while downtown in Chicago's Theater District. Users may also check performance times, purchase tickets and preview video from some of the most popular shows on Chicago stages. For more information and a video demonstration of the iPhone app, visit www.BroadwayInChicago.com/iPhone. The app was developed by David D'Angelo of LittleBoxCreations.com

Those accessing Broadway In Chicago's website on a PDA or other Smartphone will be automatically redirected to a new mobile-friendly website specially formatted for a PDA's screen. This mobile-friendly site will have a wealth of information for all of Broadway's top shows in Chicago that all PDA users can enjoy quickly and easily.
