It's mid-February and New York is covered with snow, and partners all over the city are cuddled up together feeling the love. This week is Valentines Day, the occasion set aside (by Hallmark or otherwise) to celebrate that which we care about most. While boyfriends and girlfriends and husbands and wives plan elaborate nights out and scramble to get the last bouquet of long-stem roses from the florist, I find joy in the fact that my true love has given me what I need every single day of the year.

- Is ridiculously smart
- Has a deep understanding of my range of emotions
- Makes me laugh so hard my stomach aches
- Provides an amazing night out any time I want one
- Is never bothered if I don't feel like talking
- Makes me feel like I'm home
