Thompson last starred onstage in New York City in SWEENEY TODD with the New York Philharmonic and reprised her role with the English National Opera last year. She has also graced the West End and Broadway in ME AND MY GIRL. Thompson won an Oscar for the film HOWARDS END and received nominations for THE REMAINS OF THE DAY and IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER. She wrote and starred in SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. The actress is also known for her roles in the HARRY POTTER series, LOVE ACTUALLY, ANGELS IN AMERICA, NANNY MCPHEE, STRANGER THAN FICTION, BRAVE, SAVING MR. BANKS, MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN, A WALK IN THE WOODS and more. She will soon appear as 'Mrs. Potts' in Disney's live-action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
