Michael Arden will soon return to the Great White Way as director for ONCE ON THIS ISLAND. He was nominated for a Tony and a Drama Desk Award this year for helming Deaf West Theatre's SPRING AWAKENING revival on Broadway. He also assistant directed Broadway's A TALE OF TWO CITIES and starred in THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN' and BIG RIVER. Among his Off-Broadway and regional credits are ASPECTS OF LOVE at London's Menier Chocolate Factory, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME premiere in La Jolla, ACE in San Diego, SWIMMING IN THE SHALLOWS and BARE Off-Broadway, and THE SECRET GARDEN and PIPPIN in concert in NYC. Arden married fellow stage vet Andy Mientus this summer.
