
On Monday, October 5, Broadway's Tony Award-winning hit musical CHICAGO welcomed back Broadway favorite Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn. Barrett had been scheduled to resurrect his performance for an eight-week return engagement through Sunday, November 29. Barrett's participation will now be extended through March 27, 2010.
In CHICAGO, Barrett is joined by Bonnie Langford as Roxie Hart, Deidre Goodwin as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Kecia Lewis-Evans as Matron "Mama" Morton.
Brent Barrett is no stranger to the stages of Broadway, the West End, concert halls, recording studios and television. Most recently, he starred as the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian Hotel and Casino.
He received an Olivier Award nomination for his starring role in the London premiere of the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate. His acclaimed performance was recorded for broadcast on PBS and is available on DVD. He also starred in the City Center Encores! production of The Pajama Game and as King Arthur in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Camelot.
In addition to CHICAGO's Billy Flynn, his other Broadway roles include Frank Butler in the Broadway revival of Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun at the Marquis Theatre opposite Reba McEntire, Charles Castleton in the Alan Jay Lerner musical Dance a Little Closer, Baron Felix Von Gaigern in Grand Hotel and Maximillon in the revival of Candide. His Off-Broadway credits include Closer Than Ever, March of the Falsettos, The Death of Von Richtofen, The Time Of Cuckoo and a musical version of Portrait of Jenny.
Brent has received critical acclaim when he performed as a soloist with the Boston Pops, Minnesota Opera, Opera Pacific, Michigan Opera, Kentucky Opera, with the New York Festival of Song at Carnegie Hall, with the London Sinfonetta at Royal FestivAl Hall and with the Birmingham Symphony.
His film and television credits include The Producers, Hercules, Longtime Companion, "All My Children," "Another World" and "Guiding Light."
Brent has recorded two solo albums: The Alan Jay Lerner Album on Fynsworth Alley Records
and The Kander and Ebb Album on on Varese Sarabande Records. He released his third solo recording, a Christmas CD titled Christmas Mornings, produced by Bruce Kimmel on Kritzerland Records, this November. It is now available for download on iTunes and at CDbaby.com With arrangements and musical director by Christopher Denny, Christmas Mornings features a collection of holiday standards plus two new Christmas songs, including "A Star To Guide Me" written by Barrett himself.
