Today's 2 p.m. matinee preview performance (Wednesday, November 14) of the new Broadway musical Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson has been canceled. Leading lady and two-time Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello has been sidelined with vocal fatigue, and by doctor's orders has been placed on a brief vocal rest.

Carmello, whose performance as famed twentieth-century evangelist Aimee Semple McPherson  leaves her with a total of only eleven minutes offstage during each two-hour-fifteen-minute performance, is currently expected to return to the production on Wednesday evening.

Listed as understudies for Carmello are Alison Luff and Billie Wildrick, but there is no word as to the status of understudy rehearsals.

Tickets purchased for the matinee through Ticketmaster via phone or internet will be refunded to credit cards automatically within 7-10 business days.

Tickets purchased at the Neil Simon Theatre Box Office should be returned to the box office in-person. Patrons have the option of receiving a full refund to the original method of payment or exchanging your tickets for an alternate date, subject to availability.

Tickets purchased through any other sales channel should be returned to the original point of purchase for more information.

Previews of Scandalous are expected to resume with the 8 p.m. performance on Wednesday evening at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street).
