Chris Riggi of "Gossip Girl" has joined the cast of Darren Caulley's Unhealthy for a limited workshop run at HERE Arts Center in New York from December 4th-9th. He will play "Kurt", a morally confused actor caught between two women.
Brandon Ivie has also signed on to direct the production. Ivie's Broadway credits include Next to Normal, Catch Me If You Can, and the upcoming A Christmas Story. He is also artistic director of the Seattle based theater company Contemporary Classics and is a member of the prestigious Lincoln Center Theater Director's Lab.
Riggi is best known as Scott Rosson on "Gossip Girl," and Jacob White in "Vampires Suck". He is currently filming Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, and Matthew McConaughey. Riggi just completed filming on "Adult World" with John Cusack and Emma Roberts. Other screen credits include "Dare" alongside Emmy Rossum and Zach Gilford and guest appearances on "Lipstick Jungle" and "The Guiding Light."
Riggi joins a cast that includes Allison Scagliotti (Syfy's "Warehouse 13"), Caitlin Kinnunen (Broadway's Spring Awakening), and Chris Bellant (Warner Bros. upcoming thriller "Black Sky").
Unhealthy is a play about dependence and what happens when the person who hurts you the most is the one you need more than anything. Unhealthy has been workshopped extensively with Daniel Goldfarb (writer, Cradle and All) as well as Daniel Seth (consultant, Book of Mormon).
Unhealthy is a part of the Sublet Series at HERE, HERE's curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support. The production will run for seven performances at HERE in New York City from December 4th-9th.. Tickets will be on sale in October for $18.
