After premiering in February on the eve of the Academy Awards, the show that BroadwayRadio described as "BEYOND HILARIOUS" and "ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL" returns just in time for Tony weekend.
Join a host of downtown performers as they reinterpret classic speeches from the Tonys, Emmys, Golden Globes, and more. No celebrities-especially ridiculous ones-are safe in this "FANTASTIC"
send-up of self-congratulation.
Created by Rachel Shukert (author of Everything Is Going to Be Great) and
Michael Schulman (writer at The New Yorker), the evening will feature verbatim reenactments of classic speeches, in
the tradition of Celebrity Autobiography. The cast includes Billy Eichner (Creation Nation),
Cole Escola (Logo's Jeffery and Cole Casserole),
Adam Feldman (critic for Time Out New York), Dan
Fishback,
Nick Jones (Jollyship the Whiz-Bang), Julie Klausner (The Cat Whisperer),
Emily McNamara (
The Duplex's Mostly Sondheim),
Ryan Raftery, and The Varsity Interpretive Dance Squad.
The evening will be directed by Peter
James Cook (Sailor Man, Straight Up Vampire).
The
Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within the
West Bank Cafe on 42nd Street and 9th Avenue. Tickets are $15 for the 6/9 9:30pm show; for reservations call (212) 695-6909.
