Billy Crystal's '700 Sundays' To Close May 22nd

After 170 performances and an extension past its original March 5th closing date, Billy Crystal's 700 SUNDAYS will close on May 22nd according to producers. Tickets for the newly added May 22 performance go on sale on Wednesday on Ticketmaster.

Tickets for the show were in high demand during its run with premium seating set at $251.25, a price which helped place earnings similar to that of the hit musicals currently on the boards. To date, the show has grossed over $21 million and broke the Box Office house record at the Broadhurst Theater along with setting a record for the highest weekly gross for a nonmusical in Broadway history.

Performed and written by Mr. Crystal with additional content by Alan Zweibel, 700 SUNDAYS is directed by Des McAnuff. Produced by Janice Crystal, Larry Magid and Face Productions, 700 SUNDAYS will have played 21 preview and 149 regular performances from its first performance on Friday, November 12, 2004 and official press opening on Sunday, December 5, 2004.

700 SUNDAYS broke the box office record at the Broadhurst Theatre for the week ending December 12, 2004 and went on to break its own record for six consecutive weeks thereafter. With a cumulative gross of over $21 million, 700 SUNDAYS set a new record for the highest weekly grossing non-musical in Broadway history and was one of the top ten grossing shows every single week of its run. .

700 SUNDAYS has received an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination and Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance and a Drama League
Distinguished Performance Award nomination.

Tickets for the May 22nd performance of 700 SUNDAYS go on sale beginning Wednesday, May 4th at 10 AM through Telecharge.com at 212-239-6200 or at the
Broadhurst Theatre box office. Ticket prices for this performance are scaled at $251.25 and $101.25.
