Berkeley Rep Extends RED Through May 12

By:

Today, Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced that it is extending its latest show for two weeks. Originally scheduled to close on April 29, RED adds 12 performances due to popular demand and now runs through May 12.

John Logan, the Oscar-nominated author of Hugo, Rango, Aviator, and Gladiator, won Tony and Drama Desk Awards for this feverish 90-minute drama. Now Obie Award-winning director Les Waters brings this powerful play to local audiences with David Chandler and John Brummer.

The passionate play that swept Broadway comes to Berkeley Rep. At the height of his fame, Mark Rothko struggles in his studio to finish a major series of murals. The brilliant master wrestles with his new apprentice in a battle of wits over a bucket of paint. Logan’s sizzling script spans the spectrum of human emotion. From grief and fury to joy and hope, it’s all covered in Red.

This intimate two-character show is presented on Berkeley Rep’s Thrust Stage at 2025 Addison Street, near bus lines, bike routes, and parking lots – and only half a block from BART.
Tickets range from $17.50 to $85. To purchase seats, or for more information, call (510) 647-2949 or toll-free at (888) 4-BRT-Tix – or click berkeleyrep.org.
