QUEERING HISTORY, a new play by Maggie Keenan-Bolger, will be presented as a reading on Sunday, August 19th at 8PM to benefit Green Chimneys NYC, an organization fostering LGBT homeless kids who have been ejected from their homes for their sexual orientation.

Maggie Keenan-Bolger has teamed up with the youth of Green Chimneys to redefine LGBTQ History based on their stories and hundreds of other interviews, presenting them in a theatrical telling. The youth will be performing alongside Hunter Bell, Susan Blackwell, Celia and Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Celisse Henderson, Heléne Yorke, Jax Jackson, Stephen A. Lance, Bianca Leigh, Tom Souhrada, and Garrett Zuercher in a one night reading at The Producer’s Club (Grand Theatre), 358 W 44th St. New York, NY 10036.

Adrienne Campbell-Holt directs. Email queeringhistory@gmail.com to reserve your tickets. A $20 suggested donation can be given at the door.

The NYC Division of Green Chimneys (GCNYC) is dedicated to creating safe space for Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) youth who are in foster care or homeless. We seek to empower youth and equip them with vital skills and resources to help them enter adulthood as healthy, responsible members of their communities who feel supported and celebrated rather than disenfranchised and marginalized. By not problematizing their identities, we provide youth with the skills to focus on all of the milestones of adolescence -- free of the stigmatization they so often experience in other parts of their lives.
