Beijing Playhouse Hosts CINDERELLA Auditions 9/18-19

20 adult and 10 child actors and singers are needed for Cinderella. This is a traditional British holiday production about a fractured fairy tale for adults and children alike.

Bring the kids and celebrate Christmas with Cinderella and her wicked stepsisters, uh stepbrothers, uh stepsisters. Well, anyway, they're wicked, all right. Did I say that? Oh, yes, I did! Boo and hiss and cheer along with the whole audience as the prince, Mr Buttons, a talking horse, and Santa's helpers all try to see who fits into the glass slipper.

In true British tradition, Cinderella has served up raucous family entertainment on the West End every Christmas for centuries. A cast of 30, with crazy Christmas costumes and happy music, make this show perfect for families-especially children. Directed by Michael Gralapp. Musical Director Tanya Davies. AUDITION DATES: Sunday, September 18, 2011 and Monday, September 19, 2011 at 6:30 pm.

LOCATION: Beijing Playhouse's auditions and most performances of Cinderella are conveniently located in Guomao at Trojan House theatre. Rehearsal location at British School of Beijing's Sanlitun campus.

ROLE(S): All 30 roles open. Ability to perform in English is required; but English as a native language is not required. (There are two non-speaking acrobatic/dance parts for which a performer does not need to speak English.) Auditions are open and anyone can come. We love discovering new talent. We request that interested actors complete the Actor Audition Form in advance. It helps the directors. (Request one and we'll send it to you.) We're looking for 5 boys, age 6-17; 8 men, age 18-60; 2 men, age 60-80, 5 girls, age 6-17; 8 women, age 18-60; 2 women, age 60-80.

AUDITION FORMAT: Monologues are encouraged but not necessary. Actors will do a live read from the script performing scenes from the show. (Call backs, if necessary, Tuesday, September 20 at 6:30 pm.)

PAY: This is volunteer fun.

PERFORMANCE DATES: Performances are Tuesday-Saturday nights and Sunday matinees, December 2-18, 2011. Rehearsals are evenings at 6:30 pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm in October and November in Sanlitun. The first week of performances will be at British School of Beijing's Shunyi campus. The second and third weeks will be at Trojan House in Guomao.
