Beck Center Announces 2013/2014 Theater Season
Celebrating its 80th theater season, Beck Center for the Arts has announced an eclectic 2013/2014 Professional Theater season that includes three regional premieres and the first locally produced premiere of a Broadway smash hit musical. Known for its diverse theatrical productions, Beck Center's new season features compelling dramas, award-winning musicals and hilarious comedies for Northeast Ohio audiences.
"I am really excited about this season! So much of it represents exactly what Beck Center does best," commented Artistic Director Scott Spence. "We continue our amazing alliance with Baldwin Wallace University Music Theatre program with Carrie the musical, and the icing on top is welcoming Dorothy Silver back to our intimate Studio Theater, this time accompanied by Laura Perrotta, recipient of the 2012 Best Actress award from the Cleveland Critics' Circle."
The 2013/2014 Professional Theater season features three regional premieres and one locally produced premiere."We know, for the most part, Northeast Ohio audiences will be seeing these pieces for the first time at Beck Center," continued Spence. "Annie broke all box office records last year so we felt an encore was a must-have this season. These are seven really strong shows and Beck Center is thrilled to produce each and every one of them next season."
