Beau Bridges Adapts ACTING for the Stage; Set for Samuel French Appearance 5/7

Beau Bridges and his daughter Emily will be doing an in-store appearance at Samuel French in Studio City on Saturday, May 7th for their published play "Acting: The First Six Lessons." The play is an adaptation of Richard Boleslavsky's 1933 novel which tells the story of an acting teacher who teaches a young girl the craft of acting along with important life lessons. In Beau and Emily's adaption, the play spans 10 scenes progressing from the teacher's studio, to stage, to filming in Central park, leading to the pinnacle climax at the Empire State building.

After adapting Boleslavsky's novel "Acting: The First Six Lessons," Beau and his daughter Emily performed the play at Theatre West in Los Angeles in the spring of 2010. They received rave-reviews including, "Should be seen twice!" by the Examiner.com, claiming "Beau Bridges' performance was warm and multi-layered...Clearly Emily has inherited the family acting chops." Stage Scene LA called it, "A big, big hit!"

"Acting: The First Six Lessons" is exceptionally moving in its artistic approach to understanding the development of a character through your own personal growth.

Beau most recently played Sally Field's love interest in a multi episode arc on "Brothers & Sisters." His daughter Emily recently starred as Lucy Seward in the off-Broadway production of "Dracula." Beau and Emily plan to complete a book tour at colleges nationwide.
