Bay Street Theatre Kids School Vacation Theater Camp Runs March 25-29

By:

Bay Street Theatre has announced its upcoming Spring School Vacation Kids Camp, March 25-29. The camp is for ages 8 through 12, and runs from 9am - 3 pm each day at the Bay Street Theatre. Cost is $385 for the five-day camp per child.

The camp will be led by Bethany Dellapolla and Karen Hochstedler, and includes instruction in acting, singing, dance, performance & more. In addition, there are fun, creative theater games and improvs to help develop skills and to encourage students to stretch their abilities as young actors. Students will learn standard songs and choreography, and are also encouraged to create their own original work. The camp ends in a performance at the theater for friends and family.

Laughter and learning is what kids will enjoy in working with Karen Hochstedler. Over the past 20 years, Karen has found a multitude of ways to participate in the world of music and theater, while raising six kids alongside her loving husband. She is an accomplished pianist, a singer, actress, photographer, writer and loves working with young people in the creative arts. She finds great delight in helping young people discover their gifts and talents, and especially enjoys seeing them gain confidence about who they are, as they learn and grow.

Bethany Dellapolla will lead improv and acting exercises, and teaches all dance and choreography. She received her BA in both Theatre Performance and Radio/Television Production from SUNY New Paltz. She also graduated (with honors), from Long Island University with a Masters Degree in Childhood Education and teaches, choreographs, and directs various theatre camps, productions, and classes throughout the island and Manhattan. She is a proud member of the new SAG-AFTRA alliance! Regional and NYC Acting Credits include: THE GRADUATE (Elaine Robinson), THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE (Olive Ostrovsky), CABARET (Frenchie/Lady #2), THE LARAMIE PROJECT (Romaine, et al), COMPANY (Jenny), RUTHLESS! (Lita Encore), THE NEW WORLD (Featured Vocalist, NYC) and THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST (Popeye, NYC).

There are a limited number of spots available, and the camps always sell out. Cost is $385 for the five-day camp per child.
