As BWW reported earlier in the week, GLEE creator Ryan Murphy posted on Twitter that legendary singer Bette Midler may be making a guest appearance on the FOX musical dramedy. "I just asked the incredible Bette Midler to be on Glee in front of 1,000 people. I hope she says yes!" posted Murphy, who later in the day tweeted, "Bette said yes! Amazing. I am plotting... who should she play?". It was also confirmed this week that American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez would also join the cast of GLEE's fourth season.

Now, the GLEE showrunner's latest tweet has caused an even bigger stir as he teased, "Michael Ausiello broke news of Jessica Sanchez on Glee. With voices like Jessica, Lea, Naya, Melissa, Amber, and Jenna...Streisand episode?"

In past seasons, GLEE has paid tribute to such superstars as Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, and Michael Jackson. Based on Murphy's latest hint, it appears that a Streisand-themed episode may indeed be in the works for the current season of the show.

GLEE is a musical comedy about a group of eager and ambitious students who strive to outshine their singing competition to win Nationals while navigating the cruel halls of McKinley High. Since its debut, GLEE has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon, received prestigious honors including the Golden Globe and Peabody Award and singlehandedly made glee clubs cool again.
