Bankrupt Baltimore Opera Co. Ticket Holders Get Holiday Treats

By:

The New York Times is reporting that ticket holders for the now-bankrupt Baltimore Opera Company won't be without holiday entertainment this season. Several area arts companies have announced they shall honor any nonrefundable tickets for productions of "Porgy and Bess" and "The Barber of Seville" planned by the Baltimore Opera Company, which the Times details filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this month.

The Washington National Opera had announced earlier in a statement that it would offer vouchers for its spring production of "Peter Grimes," and theatre company Centerstage said in press remarks that it would provide tickets to its productions of "Fabulation or, The Re-education of Undine," " 'Tis Pity She's a Whore" and "Souvenir."

The Baltimore Sun reported that the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra would make available tickets to four of its concerts, and the Hippodrome Theater will offer tickets to its productions of "Cats," "Movin' Out" and "Annie" explains the Times article.
