FRESH FISH 2.0 Stages 8 Short Plays In One NIght 4/1- 4/19

B. Someday Productions presents FRESH FISH 2.0, the second year of its short play festival presented at the Walking Fish Theatre. This year-eight different plays with eight different directors and loads of different actors, all in one night! April 1-19, Wednesday-Saturday @ 8:00pm, Sunday @ 2:00pm. "The evening has something for everybody," states Artistic Director, Stan Heleva. "There's a mugging, a stalking, electric shock, cheese-comedy, drama and suspense. Short attention span theatre. Turn off your TV and head down to the Fish for some LIVE entertainment!"

The plays for FRESH FISH 2.0 were selected from almost 400 submissions from all over the world. As part of B. Someday's mission, FRESH FISH performances will be a pay-what-you-can admission on all Wednesday shows. There will also be two Talk-Back evenings on Thursdays April 9 and 16.

Performances include:
RAT TAT TAT by David Guaspari of New York City, a Heideman Award finalist of 2006.

A TASTE OF HEAVEN by Estep Nagy, of NYC, finalist at Actor's Theater of Louisville. Mr Nagy wrote and directed the feature film THE BROKEN GIANT currently on permanent collection at the MOMA starring Will Arnett, John Glover and Chris Noth. Mr Nagy grew up in Philadelphia and played Little League with Parkway VFW at Blair & Berks Streets (Fishtown).

PUTTING IT BACK TOGETHER by Kate McGrath of Drexel Hill. Ms McGrath won the Adele Magner Award in 2006 for Teaching Artists and has had plays produced all over the world including Dublin, Edmonton, Australia and Khazakstan. She teaches at Stetson Middle School in Kensington.

ESTRUS IN AMAZONIA by Mike Kimball of Maine. Mr Kimball won the Fresh Talent Award for his novel UNDONE in London and got it published with the help of Stephen King. His son, Jesse Kimball is executive chef at Memphis Taproom, a well-regarded Beerpub in Kensington.

WET PAPER BAG by Alex Dremann of Chestnut Hill. Mr Dremann won the Heideman Award from the Humana Festival for April 2009.

GEORGE VS GEORGE written and directed by Ryder Thornton of Kensington. Mr Thornton was a recipient of a Fulbright Grant working in Hungary and resides at the Coral Street Arts House.

CONFUSED SEA CONDITIONS by Suzie Miller, one of Australia's most exciting new playwrights. Her work has been produced in London, New York and at the Sidney Opera House.

THE KIDS ARE AWAKE by Mark Borkowski of NYC. His play is based on a real life case of the daughter of a serial killer meeting with the son of one of his victims. Chilling.

Directors for FRESH FISH 2.0 include Jackie Jacobson, artistic director of Strawflower Productions (Philly), Liam Castellan, company member of Curio Theater (West Philly), Brendon Gawel of Ombillico Theater (Kensington), Ryder Thornton, freelance director (Philly), Stan Heleva, Artistic Director of B. Someday Productions, Michelle Pauls, Artistic Director of B. Someday Productions, Ozzie Jones, directed JAMAICA at the Prince Music Theatre (Philly), Dennis Smeltzer (Philly).

B. Someday Productions is the resident theatre company at The Walking Fish Theatre. B. Someday has been presenting original, adaptation and extant productions since 1997.
