Photo Exclusive: Shingo Katori Backstage at 'TALK LIKE SINGING' 2009/11/15 Posted: 11/16/2009 Just because he did some play in New York doesn't make him "sugoi." Anyone with money and sponsors could rent some place in the city, do some singing and talking, and call that a "off-broadway" show. I'm having a hard time understanding why they wanted to come to NY to do this. It's wrong for the Japanese media to say the play was successful, when the only people who are going to see it are Japanese. No American (or Japanese) would understand their English (who was their targeted audience anyway?), and I'd be embarrassed if the world thought that's what Japan really thinks of a "successful" play is. STAGE TUBE: NINE Quick Clip - Kate Hudson 'Cinema Italiano' 2009/11/14 Posted: 11/16/2009 I didn't realize they were adding any new numbers to the film (like this one, 'Cinema Italiano'). I suppose they did so because they felt it would make the score more 'commercial'. Let's hope this is the extent of the damage done in the translation from stage to screen. Robin Williams Will Not Play Susan Boyle In Bio Pic 2009/08/26 Posted: 11/16/2009 Why is there a 'Biography' film about Susan Boyle? She hasn't done anything brilliant, like cure a major disease or anything worth mentioning. I mean in all fairness, she did win a talent show (which it is), I congratulate her. But to make a film about her fuckin life is a bit...retarded shall we say. In my opinion it's just another way for companies to make money and if that's the case, I have lost hope for those people who entertain solely to make a profit. 'Jedward' is the new 'CRAZE' in the UK, and they have apparently been offered a deal by Disney to star in a film. Let's face it, neither of the little fuckers can sing, they dance like twats and they are THE GAYEST people to grace television. If people like that get offered film contracts then what is the point? What's the point in TALENTED people auditioning for parts when all the have to do is, well not really have any talent at all. Using the media to influence people is going to be a MAJOR problem, this is how it starts. REVIEW: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at Senior Center for the Arts 2009/11/10 Posted: 11/16/2009 For this being my first time at the center for a show - it may be my last as a result of this production. Agreed that those portraying Audrey and Seymour are wonderful and agreed that Trey Palmer should have had a bigger part with his fantastic voice - this production was hard to sit through.
