Pulitzer Prize-winning play CLYBOURNE PARK, by Bruce Norris, directed by Pam McKinnon, opened on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre last night, April 19. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the festivities, and we bring you interviews with the cast and creative team below!
CLYBOURNE PARK is about race, real estate and the volatile values of each, told through two acts set 50 years apart. The first takes place in 1959 as nervous community leaders try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. The second is set in the same house in its present-day, predominantly African-American neighborhood.Bruce Norris's acclaimed play under the direction of Pam MacKinnon, received its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons in 2010 and just completed a critically acclaimed pre-Broadway engagement at Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. The original cast has moved to the Walter Kerr Theatre. The design team features Daniel Ostling (sets), Ilona Somogyi(costumes), Allen Lee Hughes (lights), and John Gromada (sound).
