The all Canadian cast of War Horse, the show about a young boy who's horse is sold to the cavalry during WW1, opened last night, February 28, at The Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto. Productions of War Horse are currently running on the West End and on Broadway and is now appearing on the big screen courtesy of Steven Spielberg.  Click below for a performance highlights from the Toronto production of War Horse!

The Canadian cast is led by Alex Furber in the starring role of Albert, the young boy who sees his beloved horse Joey sold to the cavalry and shipped off to France. Brad Rudy and Tamara Bernier-Evans play Ted and Rose Narracott, Albert's parents. Richard McMillan plays Albert's uncle Arthur and Steven Yaffee plays Arthur's son Billy. Patrick Galligan plays German soldier Friedrich Muller, Juno Award-winning singer/songwriter Melanie Doane plays Song Person #1 and Tatjana Cornij plays Song Person #2.

The horses, Joey and Topthorn are both major characters in the show, and each require three operators. Joey, as a foal is played by Mairi Babb, Patrick Kwok-Choon, and Rahnuma Panthaky. Joey and Topthorn, as adults, are played by: Christy Adamson, Brad Cook, Adam Cunningham, Caden Douglas, James Retter Duncan, Troy Feldman, Bryan Hindle, Grant Landry, Ryan Reid, Sean Robertson, Brendan Rowland and Dayna Tietzen.

The ensemble includes: Neil Foster, Bruce Godfree, Addison Holley, Ryan Hollyman, Cara Hunter, David Hurwitz, Araya Mengesha, Brendan Murray, Brian Paul, Geoffrey Pounsett, Dylan Roberts, and Brendan Wall.
