On Saturday, March 24, BroadwayWorld was on the red carpet of the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards to talk with all of the event's stars, including Bernadette Peters, Cheyenne Jackson and more! Glee's Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera hosted the event at the Marriott Marquis Times Square on March 24.

GLAAD's celebrity support base appeared for the event in droves, including other guests and presenters such as Dakota Fanning and Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi and Broadway stars Megan Hilty, Johnny Weir and Carson Kressley.

The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community that inspire change. The GLAAD Media Awards also fund GLAAD's work to amplify stories of LGBT people and issues that build support for equality. Find out more at http://www.glaad.org/mediaawards.

Overall, GLAAD amplifies the voice of the LGBT community by empowering real people to share their stories, holding the media accountable for the words and images they present, and helping grassroots organizations communicate effectively. By ensuring that the stories of LGBT people are heard through the media, GLAAD promotes understanding, increases acceptance, and advances equality. For more information, visit http://www.glaad.org.
