The Broadway League has just partnered with the Department of Education on a very unique High School internship program. 22 NYC Public High School seniors from four boroughs were selected to participate in an internship program to learn more about Broadway. The General Managers and Company Managers of six Broadway shows participated in giving these students an up close and personal learning experience of the business and performance aspects of Broadway.

Over the course of three days, the students sat in on a Broadway Speakers Bureau, toured the Shubert Archive, and had the opportunity to visit a marketing/press office, advertising/digital office, and/or tech or design office. They were exposed to activities including: brainstorming digital campaign ideas, developing budgets, observing theatre load-ins, and more examples of day-to-day responsibilities in the commercial theatre. They also attended a Wednesday matinee with the Company Manager and shadowed him/her through the box office and backstage check-in process, etc.

Most recently, the students visited the Broadway League's office for a concluding "reflection" activity and a pizza party prior to attending an evening performance. BroadwayWorld was there for the festivities and you can check out what went on below!
