BWW Exclusive STAGE ART - THE GERSHWIN'S PORGY & BESS!

Happy 2012! Here is the latest entry in BroadwayWorld's new weekly feature - STAGE ART. This new offering will highlight the very best of Broadway theatre and beyond with new beautifully designed artwork.

Showcasing the digital paintings of our new resident artist, STAGE ART appears every Friday on BroadwayWorld as our love letter to the great talent, costume design and scenery that lights up the stages of the world. The series launched with LYSISTRATA JONES, followed by the hit London production of THE WIZARD OF OZ, the Broadway revival of FOLLIES and the upcoming Broadway production of ONCE.

This week - it's all about The Gershwin's PORGY AND BESS! The show officially opened on Thursday, January 12th, 2012 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The cast is led by four-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald (Ragtime, "Private Practice") as Bess, Drama Desk nominee Norm Lewis (Les Misérables, Sondheim on Sondheim) as Porgy and two-time Tony nominee David Alan Grier (Race, "In Living Color") as Sporting Life.
