After a lovely day off on Monday in Little Rock where a bunch of cast members rented a boat and went to Hot Springs for some r & r, we headed to the airport at 4 a.m. on Tuesday for our early flights to Ottawa, connecting through Chicago. I got to Ottawa around noonand was in my bed by12:30 and took a 4 hour nap!!

I was born and raised in Ottawa, spent the first 18 years of my life here with my parents, training in every discipline, dancing, singing and acting throughout high school. I started dancing at the age of 6 years old, so for those counting, it has now been 26 years!

This is a huge deal for me, not only because this is my home town, but because it is also the first time I perform here in Ottawa in my professional career. I've been on Broadway, in Toronto, on 4 national tours and I finally am back at home performing at the gorgeous National Arts Center. The last time I was backstage at that theatre was when I danced to the music of Oscar Peterson, when he was being honored with a Governor General's Award in 1996. 17 years later, I'm back and I can't tell you how incredible this feeling is. I had tears in my eyes when I took my bow the first night we had a show here on Wednesday. This means so much to me.

Another moment in the show where my heart warms more particularly in this city, is when my character of Tommy DeVito says: "Where it counts, the old neighborhood, I'm still a hero." And here I am, in my old neighborhood, performing a dream role.

And not only is it home, but my email has been exploding with messages from friends who are coming to the show, some I haven't seen since high school! It warms my heart that people are wanting to see this great production. I'm incredibly proud of this show and this group of people in the show, from the cast, crew, musicians, and everybody involved.

And now I'm going to go eat a delicious home cooked me with my parents. Yes I'm so spoiled!
