BP Markowitz to Join Ben Vereen at 'Lighten Up Brooklyn' Events, 7/19

On Thursday, July 19, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will join entertainer Ben Vereen, the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for a day of events at Borough Hall as part of the 2012 "Lighten Up Brooklyn" campaign, an anti-obesity and healthy lifestyle initiative launched by BP Markowitz eleven years ago.

11:00am - Restorative Movement: Dance for Older Adults led by the Mark Morris Dance Center

11:30am - Zumba for youth led by Body Sculpt of New York

Noon - Press conference and Power Walk! led by BP Markowitz and Brooklyn Borough Parks Commissioner Kevin Jeffrey

12:30pm- IntenSati workout with Shape Up NYC

1:00pm - Yoga led by Dodge YMCA

1:30pm - Zumba led by Sessions by Sara

2:00pm - Capoeira led by Raizes do Brasil Capoeira Brooklyn
