The New York Times reports that dancer Stephen Hanna, who co-stars in Broadway's Billy Elliot as Billy's older self, will join the company of New York City Ballet as a guest artist for the 2009-2010 winter season. It's also reported that Hanna will leave the Broadway show in October.

Hanna, a former principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, will resume his rank in the company. He joined the corps of City Ballet in 1997 and was promoted to soloist in 2004. He was made a principal dancer in 2005 and remained with the company until last summer.

Billy Elliot was nominated for 15 Tony Awards and took home won 10 honors earlier this year, including Best Musical.
