"We have a wonderful list of winners this year. They represent a variety of projects hailing from all parts of the borough," said Carlo A. Scissura, President & CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. "Brooklyn is home to a lot of great architecture, from civic institutions to recreational facilities to retail spaces, and this year's winners represent some of the best the borough has to offer. I want to extend my congratulations to all of them and look forward to honoring them all on July 10 at Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook."

The BBA judging committee - comprised of architects, planners, government officials, economic development experts and business leaders - convened earlier this spring to select the winners from the nominated projects.

The Chamber will also honor two people for their immense contributions to Brooklyn at the July 10event.

Anthony W. Crowell is Dean and President of New York Law School. Since 2003, he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Brooklyn Public Library, the nation's fifth largest library system, serving as its Chair since 2009. Crowell previously served as Counselor to New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. In this role, he served as counsel and senior management and policy advisor as well as general counsel to the Office of the Mayor. He also chaired the city's Panel on Regulatory Review, and sat on various boards dealing with pensions, procurement, and franchises and concessions. In addition, he served either as an executive director, counsel, or commissioner with six city charter revision commissions.

Erminia Rivera is the owner of Park Avenue Building Supplies LLC. She also serves as Chair of The Gilbert Rivera Charitable Foundation, which was established to continue the legacy of charitable giving that her husband Gilbert Rivera began as a leader in business and in his community. The foundation, established by his family, focuses on areas of importance to Gilbert and causes that he was committed to during his life such as children, education, community, and health.
