Art of Acting Studio Hosts First Professional Performance: Waiting for Lefty
The Art of Acting Studio presents the studio's first production: Clifford Odets' Waiting for Lefty, directed by Don K. Williams. This is also the Harold Clurman Laboratory Theatre Company of New York City's first West Coast production. Odets' play consists of a series of related vignettes framed by the meeting of taxi drivers planning a labor strike. The play runs through October 8.
The performance is part of the 6th annual Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts hosted by the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Art of Acting Studio. Each year the festival brings artists and activists together to discuss the relationship between art and social activism.Performances of Waiting for Lefty will take place at the Art of Acting Studio: 1017 North Orange Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90038. The Art of Acting Studio is a nonprofit acting school in Los Angeles formed in 2010 with the merger of several schools. The Studio's mission is to create an environment with the purpose of nurturing theatre artists who value humanity, their own and others', as their first and most precious priority while providing art and education to the greater community. Art of Acting Studio is part of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York.
