Andy Karl and Betsy Wolfe Depart THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD Today; Andrew Samonsky and Erin Davie to Join Cast 2/12

Original MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD cast member Andy Karl will play his final performance today, February 10. Beginning February 12, Andrew Samonsky will join the company and assume the role of 'Neville Landless'. Original cast member Betsy Wolfe is also departing the show, to be replaced by Erin Davie in the role of "Rosa Bud".

Karl leaves the role to return to Broadway's Jersey Boys. He has originated the roles of Luke in Altar Boyz; Joe in 9 to 5; the UPS Guy in Legally Blonde on Broadway and MTV. His other credits include Wicked, The Wedding Singer, Saturday Night Fever, Sondheim's Saturday Night, SLUT! the musical and Romeo & Bernadette. His film credits Joyful Noise; On the One; New York, I Love You.

Wolfe will next appear in off-Broadway's The Last Five Years. She has starred in Everyday Rapture and Encores! Merrily We Roll Along. Davie's theater credits include Broadway's Curtains, A Little Night Music and Grey Gardens.

Andrew Samonsky will soon be seen in City Center Encores! production of Fiorello!. Broadway credits include Scandalous as Kenneth Ormisten and South Pacific as Lt. Cable where he was seen on the Live From Lincoln Center PBS broadcast. Off Broadway in Michael John LaChiusa's Queen of the Mist as Frank Russell (Drama Desk nomination). Also, Encores! production of Merrily We Roll Along, and regionally at La Jolla Playhouse (Little Miss Sunshine) and American Conservatory Theater (Tales of the City).

The Mystery of Edwin Drood is playing a limited engagement at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street) through March 10th, 2013. The original end date was February 10th, 2013.

Directed by Scott Ellis, The Mystery of Edwin Drood features choreography by Warren Carlyle and music direction by Paul Gemignani. The design team includes Anna Louizos (sets), William Ivey Long (costumes), Brian Nason (lighting), Tony Meola (sound) and Paul Huntley (hair & wigs).
