An Acoustic Evening With Poco Comes To TCAN 7/18

By:

Poco is coming to the Center for Arts in Natick on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 8pm.

An acoustic evening with Poco, the group known to create a new musical genre that united country with rock music. Their influence runs deep and their well-deserved reputation for well-constructed harmony and incendiary live performances has long been a staple of the band's legacy.

Poco is an American country rock band originally formed by Richie Furay and Jim Messina following the demise of Buffalo Springfield in 1968. The title of their first album, Pickin' Up The Pieces, is a reference to the break-up of the Springfield and is the only debut album ever to receive a perfect rating from Rolling Stone Magazine.

A favorite of AOR FM stations in the early 1970s, Poco was considered to be a highly innovative and pioneering band.

Throughout the years Poco has performed in various groupings. With 24 original albums and 26 "Best of" and anthology collections, the band boasts a total catalog of 50 releases.

Poco today is led by founding member Rusty Young, Paul Cotton and Jack Sundrud and continues to be a recording and touring force logging over 100 shows each year.

"It's about the songs," Rusty insists. "You remember where you heard them the first time, they become part of all of our lives. Now you can make new memories with new songs and 'rememberwhen' with the old ones I know we're enjoying ourselves more than we ever have and we know the audiences are too."

Poco performs such songs as Kind Woman - A Good Feelin' To Know - Crazy Love - Heart of the Night - Pickin' Up The Pieces - Rose of Cimarron - Under The Gun - and many more.

Admission is $46 and $40 for members. Students and seniors get a $1 discount.
