The second annual chashama Film Festival is proud to announce a special screening of Amber Moelter's "Dirty Step Upstage" as part of their Opening Night on October 21, 2009. "Dirty Step Upstage" is the directorial debut of Amber Moelter, who also wrote and appears in the film.

Inspired by real events, it is a gritty drama about the price an aspiring young singer is prepared to pay for fame. The film mixes styles and formats to expose the underbelly of the entertainment industry. "Dirty Step Upstage" will be screened at The Tank at 8:10pm.

Amber Moelter hails originally from South Dakota, but has performed as an actor, dancer, and singer on four continents. While living in London, she starred in several independent films including "Cross-Eyed Waltz" which launched her career as a producer. After returing to the USA she produced, co-wrote, and starred in the short fan film "Catwoman:Resolution," which inaugurated her Production Company ALM Talkies. Her portrayals of Catwoman have caught the attention of latex fetish fans worldwide and been featured in Marquis magazine and elsewhere.

Funded and curated by film director/producer Rick Kariolic, the 2nd Annual chashama Film Festival explores global expression through film making, while setting the stage for audiences and filmmakers to cultivate the unknown in various cultures. The chashama Film Festival has become a platform for a spectrum of cultural, political, and philisophical ideologies, presented in an environment designed to foster creative and intellectual expansion. The 2008 chashama Film Festival spanned three days and screened fifty-four films from all over the world. This year cFF will screen 80 movies from over 30 countires spanning all seven continents.

The chashama Film Festival will take place from October 22, 2009 to October 26, 2009 at the flagship chashama Theater Space, located at 217 East 42nd Street, and other theatres to be announced.
