Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Joins Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

On Wednesday, December 15th Ailey kicks off a week-long dedication to America's two greatest art forms - Jazz and modern dance. Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will join Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in live musical performances highlighting the works of legendary composers, Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie. Watch as the Company's remarkable artistry brings these spellbinding sounds to life in Alvin Ailey's renowned work, Three Black Kings and the captivating ballet, The Winter In Lisbon by Billy Wilson. The week's performances will also include repertory favorites such as Artistic Director Designate, Robert Battle's In/Side and works by Ulysses Dove and Hans van Manen.

This season's restaging of Three Black Kings is a momentous occasion, made even more special by live musical accompaniment by Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. THE CELEBRATION CONTINUES WITH FINAL THREE PERFORMANCES OF
REVELATIONS WITH CAST OF 50 DANCERS

In a joyful nod to each year of Revelations' life, audiences will witness the ballet with a cast of 50 for the first-time ever! Dancers will fill the stage and spill into the aisles as promising students from The Ailey School and talented young dancers from Ailey II enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dance alongside members of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater during the final performances of the season on December 11th mat, December 12th mat and December 18th mat.

THE EVOLUTION OF A SECURED FEMININE
WORLD PREMIERE ON DEC 14TH
Choreographer Camille A. Brown explores femininity through the scope of a character struggling to find balance between self-doubt and self-expression in this witty, female solo set to the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Betty Carter and Nancy Wilson. With taut gestures and fast footwork set to jazz, the candid journey becomes a forceful expression of the limitless gifts of being a woman while finding joy in the spontaneity of life.
