Allison Janney Signs on for FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER Series

According to the Hollywood Reporter, stage and screen star Allison Janney has just joined the cast of NBC's upcoming 'Friday Night Dinner' series. Based on the UK comedy of the same name, the show will also star Tony Shalhoub.

As described by THR, the show is about 'quirky family that has dinner together every Friday night. Shalhoub and Janney will play the parts of Gene and Barbara, respectively.'

In 1998, Janney was nominated for a Tony Award for her role in Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge. Her first Broadway role was in Present Laughter opposite Frank Langella. In May 2009, she won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for the role of Violet Newstead in 9 to 5.
