"GO BOOK YOURSELF", a workshop with Alex Brightman and Drew Gasparini, opens today at Pearl Studios, and continues through Thursday, July 25.

Auditioning sucks. Nothing about it resembles anything we actually do as actors in a theatrical situation. In place of a darkened theatre, we have a fluorescently bright office no bigger than a walk-in closet. In place of an audience, we have casting directors, producers, and the like sitting in uncomfortable folding chairs, hoping and praying you are "the one." You warm up, only to freeze in an uncomfortable atmosphere full of other versions of you. Auditions and callbacks are the some of the very few situations where we, as actors, forget that we are a community.

Auditioning sucks...but it doesn't have to.

Join Broadway's Alex Brightman (Wicked, Big Fish) and award-winning composer Drew Gasparini (Crazy, Just Like Me, SMASH) and learn some valuable lessons in the ways of one of the most challenging parts of our business. With this crash-helmet master class, full of improvisational tools, vocal performance/technique, resume/headshot overhaul, some special guests, and definitely some laughs, you will be able to walk into your next audition with your shoulders lowered, your head up, and talent rifle blazing.

Expect tough love. We're family.

Contact GoBookYourselfClass@gmail.com for questions and reservations. Pearl Studios is located at 500 8th Avenue Rm. 416. The master class runs this week, July 22nd-25th, from 6pm-10pm. Tickets: $350/4-day Session; $75 deposit due on first class.
