Alden Theatre Presents Cinderella—The World’s Favorite Fairy Tale

The Alden Theatre will present Cinderella-The World's Favorite Fairy Tale at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 2-3 and 9-10. The show features young actors in 5th through 12th grade who live in the McLean tax district. Tickets are $10, $8 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

An Alden Theatre production, the show is a charming retelling of the Cinderella story featuring the legends of Plum Blossom (China), Vasilisa (Russia) and Broken Wing (Native American). Pear Blossom is played by Eden Ferreira, a 5th grader at Spring Hill Elementary School. Vasilisa is played by Sophia Luwis, a 7th grader at Ambleside School, and Broken Wing is played by Olivia Ware, a 6th grader at Churchill Road Elementary School.

Other cast members include: Langley High School students Madeleine Chalk, Elizabeth Regan and Rachel Stone; McLean High School students Samantha Downey and Cassidy Kelty; Longfellow Middle School students Josh Hayden and Steve Pardo; Cooper Middle School student Jake Holzapfel; Haycock Elementary School students Jeeho Ha and Nate Lavoy; and British School student Oliver Hudson. The show is recommended for children 6 years old and older and is one hour long with no intermission.

Alden Theatre Director of Youth Programs Kathleen Herr directed the show. McLean High School English Teacher Heather Stiegler is the stage manager. Lighting design is by Alden Theatre Technical Director Jennifer Garrett; sound design is by Assistant Technical Director Justin King. Costume design is by Patron Services Manager Evelyn Verdon and the set was built by Theatre Technician Thomas Haman.
