Adam Pascal Herniates Disc; Cary Shields Fills in on RENT Tour for Detroit Engagement

The producers of RENT - The Broadway Tour, announced late today that, due to a herniated disc, Adam Pascal will not appear in the Detroit engagement which opens tonight at the Detroit Opera House.

Cary Shields will perform the role of Roger for the full run of RENT in Detroit. Shields played Roger on Broadway for 18 months before joining the current national tour. He has also appeared on Broadway in Taboo and in the national tour of Falsettos.

The rest of the original Broadway cast of RENT -- Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart -- will appear in the Detroit engagement which runs through February 22.

Performance times for RENT, The Broadway Tour appearing February 17-22 at the Detroit Opera House, located at 1526 Broadway St., in Detroit, are as follows:

- Tuesday through Saturday performances at 8:00 p.m.

- Saturday and Sunday matinee performances at 2:00 p.m.

- Sunday evening performance at 7:30 p.m.

General ticket prices range from $25-$48 on Tuesday, February 17 (save $10).
