Adam Shankman to Direct THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, director Adam Shankman is currently in talks to direct a big screen adaptation of Jonathan Tropper's novel THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU for Warner Bros. The project will be produced by Spring Creek Production's Jeff Levine and Paula Weinstein. 

The story is described as a tale of "four grown children who must return to the house they grew up in and sit shiva with their mother after their father dies. Dysfunctional comedy ensues."

Shankman is currently in post-production on the adaptation of the groundbreaking hit Broadway rock musical "Rock of Ages," which will be released in June 2012. In July 2007, Shankman directed and executive produced "Hairspray," the feature film adaptation of the Tony® Award-winning Broadway musical. It received three Golden Globe® nominations including Best Picture-Musical or Comedy. In addition, the cast won a Critics' Choice Award for Best Acting Ensemble.

Shankman began his directing career in 2001 with his debut feature, "The Wedding Planner." The next year, he directed the romantic drama "A Walk to Remember." Shankman followed with "Bringing Down the House," "The Pacifier," and "Cheaper by the Dozen 2." Shankman's recent films include the box-office hits "17 Again," which he produced, and "Bedtime Stories," which he directed. Recently, Shankman directed episodes of Fox's 'Glee' and ABC's 'Modern Family'.
