About Face Theatre Presents Benefit Performance
About Face Theatre presents AN EVENING WITH ABOUT FACE YOUTH THEATRE: A Benefit Performance and Reception on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 7 pm at The Victory Gardens Richard Christiansen Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave.in Chicago. Tickets cost $100 and are currently available at www.aboutfacetheatre.com.
The evening, benefitting About Face's critically acclaimed Youth Theatre will kick-off at 7 pm with a cocktail reception and hors d'oeuvres. At 8 pm, members of the AFT Youth Theatre will present a showcase of scenes developed during their summer workshop. The evening will include a "sneak peak" of next summer's Youth Theatre performance of What's the T? Examining the "T" in LGBTQ, an exploration and celebration of trans identity. The evening is hosted by Board, Staff and Artistic Associates of About Face Theatre.
The About Face Youth Theatre is a safe space for young LGBTQA people to share and tell their stories, create a community, and address and learn about the issues that face the queer community. AFYT also performs educational shows around the country to high schools and colleges to teach and promote dialogue about LGBTQ life and issues with young people and adults.
