ANNOUNCING THE 20TH ANNUAL MARY-ARRCHIE
ABBIE HOFFMAN DIED FOR OUR SINS THEATER FESTIVAL
AUGUST 22, 23, & 24
AT ANGEL ISLAND, 735 W. SHERIDAN
3 DAYS OF VIRTUALLY NON-STOP THEATRICAL ENTERTAINMENT

Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. has been wrapping up its last 19 seasons by inviting any and all theater groups and performing individuals into its performance space at Angel Island, 735 W. Sheridan to celebrate the anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair of 1969.  Abbie Hoffman Died For Our Sins was inspired by the need to do something to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Woodstock. Now it is the 39th Anniversary and there is an even louder outcry for celebration.

This is the 20th annual Abbie Hoffman Died For Our Sins. We have strived to recreate the spirit of Woodstock over the years by bringing some 40-50 different theater groups and performing individuals together for 3 days of non-stop theatrical entertainment and nothing but theatrical entertainment. This year we are ending our 22nd season with the festival happening on August 22, 23 & 24.  Tickets for the event are $10 for a day pass (come and go all day just make sure you've got your pass), or $25 for a weekend pass (same as day pass only it applies toward the whole weekend). A free vintage Abbie Hoffman T-shirt will be given with all $25 weekend passes.

This year's event involves many of the mainstays of past festivals with many new groups and individuals. The festivities begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 22 when we all gather at the Daley Center and at 3 p.m. embark on a peaceful march back to Angel Island, home of Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. for the opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. with Richard Cotovsky's portrayal of Abbie Hoffman to bless a non-stop weekend focused on exchanging ideas and resources between theaters, individuals, and audience members and of course watching and performing spiritually uplifting, quality, and kick-ass theater ending literally sometime in the wee hours of Monday, August 25th.

Some of the highlights of this years festival include Lola Balatro, Red Ink Theatre, New Leaf Theatre, Jockalope Theatre Co., Hunger and Dread, JAZ, Drew the Dramatic Fool, The Side Project, Brian Parenti, Emergency Theatre Co., Aston Rep, The Plagiarists, Democracy Burlesque, Team Venture Productions, Jim Slonina, The Mill Theatre, up, down, up, down, A, B, Start, Citizens Relief, Rare Terra Theatre Co., The Sweet Life of Zach and Paul, Black Forest, Nick Izzo, Lunchbox Productions, A Reasonable Facsimile Theatre Co., MS Garvey, Fury Theater Co., The Dead Superheroes Orchestra, Famous in the Future, Wolf, Chicago Fusion Theatre, The Factory Theater, Strawdog Theatre, Jason Lubow, Camenae Ensemble Theater Co., Shabam!
