A Steady Rain now being performed at the Royal George Theatre on Halsted is once again garnishing rave reviews thanks to a story line that is always in motion and an emotional portrayal of two Chicago cops played by Randy Steinmeyer and Peter DeFaria.

Denny and Joey are two beat cops who are bucking to make detective. They know how the system works and how unfair at times it can be. They've grown up together and have been there for each other in good times and bad. Until now.

In this two man show, Denny is pushed beyond the breaking point, matters get taken into his own hands, and his partner Joey finds himself torn between standing by his partner or following what he feels in his heart.

As they say, when it rains it pours…and Denny ends up sitting in the middle of one hell of a storm.

Keith Huff author of A Steady Rain really knows the Chicago neighborhoods, and with family members who are themselves retired policemen, he has heard plenty of stories from the streets. Add outstanding performances from Steinmeyer and DeFaria, and you have the formula for a very real scenario where reason takes a back seat to emotional rage.

After its sold out 6 week run at Chicago Dramatists in 2007, A Steady Rain returns for a run scheduled from March 4th to April 27th. The intimate setting of the Royal George Theatre adds much to the intensity and the impact of the dialog and the situations that the main characters portray. Some of the language may be a bit mature for younger audiences as well as some of the realistic situations that are portrayed.

The Royal George Theatre is located at 1641 N. Halsted Street.  Tickets can be purchased through the Royal George Box Office at (312) 989.9000 or by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 902.1500.
