It's the ad that launched a thousand tweets. Just yesterday, AT&T wireless posted an ad on Twitter encouraging people to watch football on their phones while at the theatre. Despite such behavior being rude, disruptive and, in New York City, illegal, AT&T wrote, "Don't let life get between you and football." Since yesterday, AT&T removed the original tweet, but that hasn't stopped the outrage from the Broadway and theatre community at large.

Now an AT&T told NBC 4 New York: "Certainly it's evident our ads take place in an alternate reality and are not meant to be taken literally. The broad concept of the campaign is that you see content just about anywhere."
